How long are your ceremonies?

Our ceremonies range from 10 minutes to 35 minutes depending on the package chosen and your selected inclusions. However, the average civil ceremony in Australia is 18 minutes long.

 

Do you take care of all the legal stuff?

Yes. I handle all the required legal paperwork for you. I will guide you through the 'Notice of Intended Marriage', check your ID documents, and make sure everything is completed correctly and on time. On the day of your ceremony, you are legally married. After the wedding, I register your marriage with Births, Deaths and Marriages within 14 days.

What is a Legals Only marriage?

A legals only wedding is the easiest way to get married! It is incredibly quick and local. Some people do a 'courthouse wedding' at the registry, but our services are better value and more personal. For more information visit the Central Coast Marriage Office.

Can you help with vows?

I am willing to help you with every aspect of the ceremony, including your vows. I'll also send you some guides and plenty of tips/tricks that will help you with choosing what you'd like the ceremony to feel like. I'll write the main script and make sure it feels like you.

How much experience do you have?

I have been a celebrant for 7 years as "Lewis Jonker". Now we have established 'Aussie Weddings' in 2026 to continue offering heartfelt and authentic ceremonies.

Do you offer religious or non-religious ceremonies?
Yes to both. I can include faith elements, prayers, readings, or keep things completely secular. We will design something that reflects your values without pressure either way.

Can we have children involved in the ceremony?
Absolutely. Kids can be involved as much or as little as you like. I am very relaxed and flexible, and I am used to ceremonies that include babies, toddlers, and everything in between.

Do we need witnesses?
Yes. You need two witnesses over the age of 18. If you are eloping and do not have witnesses, let me know and we can help organise this.

Do we have to have an interview?

I get it, you are planning a wedding and you are overwhelmed with all the vendors and decisions! You can book me easily without any interviews. Eventually when the time is right, we'll need to meet in person or online so that we can complete some easy legal paperwork, and plan your wedding.

 

What are the prices of Australian weddings?

How do we book you for our wedding?

Visit the contact page or simply book now. A 20% booking fee secures your date. The remaining 80% is paid anytime prior to the Ceremony.

Do you travel interstate?

We travel Australia wide and across the world. Our local area includes the Central Coast, Hunter, Sydney and Newcastle regions in NSW.​ Contact us for a travel quote!

Can you Emcee our reception?

Absolutely! I also offer other services like  video guest books, and elopement planning. I can also recommend other vendors.

​

Can our friend conduct the ceremony?

I offer the ability to coach anybody to run your ceremony while I complete the legal elements. This is an extra cost, to ensure your friend says the right things! It's often called a 'co-pilot wedding'.
