MARRIAGE CELEBRANT SERVICE AGREEMENT

Celebrant: Lewis Jonker

This agreement is between Lewis Jonker and the couple named on the booking invoice. By paying the booking fee or confirming the booking in writing, the couple agree to these terms.

1. Services

Lewis agrees to:
• provide celebrancy services in accordance with the Marriage Act 1961
• prepare all legal documentation
• lodge legal paperwork with Births, Deaths and Marriages
• conduct the ceremony on the agreed date, time and location
• deliver the ceremony & agreed services

2. Payment

• A non-refundable booking fee of 20% confirms the date
• The remaining 80% must be paid before the date of the ceremony

​

3. Change of Date or Location

If the couple change the date, time or location, they must notify Lewis. If Lewis is available, the booking is transferred at no extra cost. If he is not available for the new date, the booking fee may be retained.​

6. If the Celebrant is Unable to Attend

If Lewis cannot attend due to illness or unforeseen genuine reason, the couple and the celebrant will agree to one of the following options:

1. Lewis arranges a replacement authorised celebrant at no extra cost

2. The ceremony is rescheduled to an agreed new date

3. All money paid is refunded if no alternative celebrant or date is possible

7. Legal Requirements

The couple (with the help of the celebrant) will:
• complete the Notice of Intended Marriage within the legally required timeframe
• provide correct legal documents and truthful declarations
• not be intoxicated or impaired at the ceremony
Lewis may refuse to solemnise if legal conditions are not met.

8. Timing

Lewis will arrive approximately 45 minutes before the ceremony begins. If the couple arrive late by more than forty-five minutes without explanation, Lewis may reschedule for later that day if possible, which may incur additional fees.

9. Media and Images

Lewis may appear in photographs and video taken at the ceremony or surrounding events.
Lewis may use images that include the couple for marketing or promotional purposes.
Permission for Lewis to use the images can be withdrawn by the couple at any time for reasonable circumstances, for example, privacy, serious personal sensitivities or employment related reasons. If permission is withdrawn, Lewis will stop using the material and will remove existing use where reasonably possible.

10. Reviews and Feedback

Aussie Weddings will reach our for feedback and a google review in the month after the ceremony.

11. Privacy

All personal documents and information will be treated confidentially and stored securely. Information will not be shared except where legally required or explicitly permitted.

12. Liability

Lewis’s total liability for any claim or dispute is limited to the total fees paid for the service. He is not responsible for matters outside his control including weather, equipment failure, crowd noise, venue conditions or guest behaviour.

14. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales.

​

15. Acceptance

The couple accept this agreement by doing any of the following:
• paying the 20% booking fee
• confirming in writing
• continuing with use of services after receiving the agreement
